OBYKHVIST Maria, born 1986.  Graduated from Kharkiv national pedagogical university in 2007 with a bachelor degree in teaching English and Chinese languages and foreign literature. From September 2007 till July 2008 studied Chinese language in Beijing foreign languages university. In 2009 obtained Master degree in Kharkiv national pedagogical university. From 2009 till 2012 worked in International department of Kharkiv Academy of Physical culture. Since 2012 till 2019 worked in Karazin Kharkiv National University as a teacher of Chinese language,  taught courses of basic Chinese and the theory and practice of translation. Cooperated with Confucius Institute, took part in its conferences and workshops. Field of study - literature and translation of fiction. Translated San Mao's short stories for the conferences on literature in Ukraine. In 2018 obtained PhD degree on comparative literature in Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, the name of the thesis ' Representation of feminity in the novels by Mo Yan, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Salman Rushdie'. Since September 2019 teaches Russian language in Anhui university, Hefei. In 2020 took part in the conference on comparative literature in Hefei. Interested in translation of contemporary Chinese fiction to Ukrainian language. Believe that Chinese culture should be presented more vividly in Ukraine and translation work will make a great contribution to this task.
